The Students Association of Arrupe College is established in accordance with the statutes and regulation of Arrupe College and is recognized by the Academic Council and Board of Governors of the College. This Association has been officially in existence since 2002 and has the following objectives.

Presently, the Arrupe Students Association is made up of 150 students. Badokufa Joseph heads the association with Moyo Arnold as the incumbent Secretary. Other members of the SC are Nizigiyimana Desire(Sports), Mweemba Oderick (Cultural & Liturgical) and Padya Igantius (Entertainment). The students are involved in a variety of activities which are provided by various clubs and organizations. These include Football, Lawn Tennis, Table Tennis, Badminton, Basketball, Gymnasium, Drama, Choir and charity services and donations. Come join Arrupe Students Association.

Aims and objectives of the Association
  • To provide for the representation of the students matters that affects their interests, both as individuals and as a body, especially in respect of their academic studies.
  • To provide and develop intellectual, artistic, cultural, recreational, religious and social activities arising among its members, and to promote their general welfare.
  • To provide encourage and develop among its members the formation, organization and operation of clubs and societies and other groupings for such purposes as are mentioned above.
  • To provide effective channel of communication between the students body and the College authorities.
  • To promote and maintain the co-operation of its members with students in other tertiary institutions and especially with the National Movement of Catholic Students in Zimbabwe.
Membership
Ordinary membership is restricted to registered full-time students of the College for whom such membership is automatic. Registered part-time students of the College who choose to pay the full Association subscription also become ordinary members. Associate membership is reserved for all full-time members of the College staff and the registered part-time students who elect not to be ordinary members.

Students Committee
The Students Association has a Students Committee responsible for the administration and conduct of the Affairs of the Students Association and shall be responsible to the Students Association in general meetings for the proper discharge of their duties. The SC has the power to frame by-laws and regulations and take other action subject to the provisions of the Constitution for the promotion of the objectives of the Association. The SC is made up of the president of the Students Association, the Vice-President and five members elected by the ordinary members of the Association.

The Welfare, Entertainments & Charities
This Committee is in charge of the planning and execution of students oriented projects and over sees of the facilities offered to the students by the College in the dining hall, the student lounge, gymnasium and sickbay. The Vice-President chairs this Committee.

The Sports & Recreation
This Committee promotes, advance and co-ordinates sporting and recreational activities amongst the students both within and outside the College. It also arranges competitions and events and gives awards to out standing clubs, teams or persons (e.g. Rector’s Cup). A member of the SC chairs this Committee.

The Finance
This committee oversees and co-ordinates all financial affairs of the Association. This includes keeping and receiving accounts on all financial activities of the Association and making recommendations on financial affairs to the SC. The treasurer of the SC chairs this committee.

The Cultural and Liturgical
This Committee promotes, encourage, support and co-ordinate all cultural and liturgical clubs, groups and societies affiliated to the Association. It also organizes periodical drama, dance, artistic and musical events both on behalf of the Association. A member of the SC chairs this Committee.
